Czech language, along with Slovak, Polish, and Sorbian, represents western group of Slavonic languages. In a broader outlook it is related to the languages forming the east Slavonic group (Ukrainian, Belarusian, Russian) and the southern Slavonic group (Bulgarian, Macedonian, Slovenian, Serbian, and Croatian). Czech has slightly above 10 million speakers in Czech Republic, and about 200,000 speakers in other countries, who are mostly emigrants. Many Czech speakers can be found especially in Slovak Republic, Austria, Poland, Germany, Ukraine, Croatia; in the USA, Australia and Canada.
